The new drylin® NTM-45 integrates rail, motor, and controller into one sleek system.

To meet this need, igus has unveiled the drylin® NTM-45, a groundbreaking electric telescopic extension slide that combines rail, motor, and controller into one streamlined, maintenance-free unit, designed specifically for applications where every millimetre counts. At just 42 mm high and 45 mm wide, the drylin NTM-45 achieves a maximum extension of 500 mm while maintaining a remarkably compact footprint.

“The compact drive and space-saving motor interface make the NTM-45 ideal for installations where conventional linear systems with separate motors and controls would simply be too large,” explains Lee Wilkins, Product Manager for linear and drive technology at igus UK.

• Automotive and motorhome design: Adds flexibility and comfort to interiors, ideal for adjustable armrests, mirrors, or monitor mounts while keeping weight to a minimum with aluminium and polymer components.
• Service robotics: When paired with a programmable controller, the NTM-45 enables autonomous motion systems, such as automated delivery robots.

Clean, quiet, and maintenance-free

Unlike conventional telescopic systems, the NTM-45 runs without rolling bearings or lubricants. Its anodised aluminium profiles and iglidur® IC-05 polymer-coated centre rail deliver low-friction, wear-resistant dry operation, while a dryspin® high-helix lead screw ensures smooth, durable performance.

The result: a hygienic, dust-resistant, and maintenance-free system that operates quietly and reliably even in demanding environments.

A complete motion solution

To meet different automation needs, igus offers the drylin NTM-45 with a choice of stepper, DC, or EC/BLDC motors. With the D1 motor control system, users can easily configure and adjust motion parameters such as speed and acceleration via WLAN or LAN.
