igus rolls out the new chainflex cable box, saving users time and money

A new chainflex cable box is proving a best seller for plastics expert igus.

The chainflex CASE, a new logistics solution from this global manufacturer of energy chain systems and polymer plain bearings, is saving customers both time and money.

John Barker, chainflex cable product manager at igus, which has its UK headquarters in Northampton, said: “Instead of pallet deliveries by courier, we now deliver cables by parcel service in a recyclable box.

“Customers save up to 84 per cent on their shipping cost and because the boxes are stackable, it has never been easier to set up a customised storage at the production site.”

The igus chainflex CASE is also proving a popular and practical solution for companies that do not have the capacity for large or expensive cable racks and so store their cables on shelves. The cables are protected, and a specially designed drum means they can be easily unreeled straight from the box.

“As the box is made entirely of corrugated cardboard, it is extremely light, but also robust and easy to recycle”, added John.

60 per cent faster re-ordering

What do you do when the drum is empty? The igus chainflex CASE includes a QR code which will direct customers straight to the company’s online shop. This means cables can be re-ordered with just a few clicks.
